We begin our Christmas festivities with a rather unconventional pairing. Unconventional not just because it’s a horror film with an animated family flick, but also because the latter is technically not even a Christmas movie. It does, however, embody the joy, wonder, and magic of this, and many other, holiday seasons. This week we’re pairing Michael Dougherty’s 2015 Krampus with DreamWorks’s Rise of the Guardians (2012). We discuss how much both films surprised us despite their largely awful marketing, and the power and responsibility of belief. So deck the halls, grab your coco, and join us by the hearth as we wade into the wonder of and terror of the Christmas season. Look below the jump for some supplemental images to go with the episode.
