Here at A Frame Apart, we fancy ourselves to be rather participatory. For the month of October we did four solid weeks of Halloween festivities. For December, it was Christmas, and November we did our first ever Noirvember. So we decided that, for the month of June, we’d do our very own monthly theme. For the next five weeks it’s officially Divergent Month here at A Frame Apart! All month long we’ll be discussing films that differ drastically from one another while sharing one common thread.
To start the month off we took a look at Divergent Prequels! To do so, we focused on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom! From the serial nature of Temple to the direct connection Rogue One has to Episode IV, we’re discussing what makes these prequels stand apart, whether or not they should be watched in chronological order (plot-wise or by release date?), and the overall value of prequels.
Next week, Ariel will give her thoughts on Wonder Woman after her screening (on 70mm!) tonight! Tune in to the show, and don’t forget to share your thoughts with us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Tumblr. Want us to cover a specific film? Have a concept you want us to talk about?
