Costa Rica’s Las Robertas have just released their new music video for “Marlene” – which is off their 2014 full-length album Days Unmade. The song bounces along on fuzzy garage-pop hooks, with distant vocal melodies that ebb and flow throughout; fans of Dum Dum Girls and Upset will find plenty to like about this track.
Days Unmade hints upon abrasiveness around the edges, but at the center is a gooey and sugary confection. The video for “Marlene” similarly pairs the song’s sweet hooks with slightly abrasive and warped VHS vibes and live footage – it’ll have you running for the rewind button to watch it again.
Las Robertas’ new record Days Unmade is out now and available through Arts & Crafts México.
