In Episode 146 of See You Next Wednesday, Casey and Dan chose Force Majeure and Obvious Child as their winning movies, respectively. Find out what Dan thought of the abortion-themed romantic-comedy starring Jenny Slate, and hear what Casey has to think about what the former says about modern masculinity. Then, speaking of rom-coms, Greg sits at home and suffers through the Adam Sandler flick Just Go With It. Does he go for it? You’ll have to hit play to find out.
But first, after a major surprise announcement, everyone plays catch-up with such movies as Pitch Perfect, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Draft Day, Whiplash, West of Memphis, Fruitvale Station, and so many more. Plus, another rousing trip through 9021Oh Yeah! Relay with the Season 2 episode “My Desperate Valentine.”

Congratulations Casey! Get ready for the most gratifying and humbling experience the universe has to offer. You will often feel like a god and the dumbest person in the world. Sometimes within 5 minutes of each other. There is something special about the first time your child looks at you incredulously.
Also, glad to get more Whiplash talk! The tension in that movie is just so thick. It is the only movie I have been sitting in and loving but also wanting it to end. Especially near the climax. I wanted to know how it all went down but I didn’t know how much more I could handle without losing my mind.

This episode made me like WHIPLASH more, FORCE MAJEURE more, and OBVIOUS CHILD more. I liked all three of them already – this was some enhancement. Thanks for your words.

Joseph Thanks very much for both the congrats and the suggestion. We checked out The F Word for film roulette and were equally charmed by it. Thanks, you filthy American!

A) Congratulations, Casey! B) Speaking of romantic comedies, this one might very well have been a 2013 release for you crazy Canadians, but I caught up with set-in-Toronto The F Word (released in the US as What If?) and was god damned delighted by it. A really good showcase for Zoe Kazan and Daniel Radcliffe, it’s so nice to see a well-written romantic comedy that’s not populated by idiots. Very, very much recommended. (Also, as a filthy American/Chicagoan, I didn’t know just how lovely your city’s parks and beaches are before seeing this movie.)
