And we’re back with smokier rooms, more venetian blinds, and deadlier dames! That’s right, it’s back to fun with Noirvember. This week, we’re diving back into Noir and its more loosely defined contemporary companion, Neo Noir. We discuss the differences between the two, and some of our favourite Neo Noirs through Chinatown and Dark City. It’s a taught episode, as things get heated when Ariel realizes how she really feels about the latter, and both of us come to grips with the former. So sit back with your bourbon of choice and a nice cigar, as we venture deeper still into the wonder that is Noirvember.
Share your #Noirvember with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Don’t forget to use the hashtag! And follow Marya on Twitter and Instagram, as well as her Noirvember tumblr and Facebook page.
Be sure to check out the Canadian Association of Online Film Critics‘ website for information on how to become a member, and all the wonderful benefits. We’re hosting a series of panels into the beginning of December, so be sure to check them out! The next one is on Thursday, November 24th (contrary to what we said on the show!) at 7:00pm at the Carlton Cinema. This #panel promises to be hugely informative, as it’s all about the art of the #pitch, the bane of all #freelance #writers the world ’round. These events are open to members and non-members alike, so if you’re in #Toronto, come on by!
And, of course, don’t forget to subscribe to A Frame Apart on iTunes, follow us on SoundCloud, or check us out on Google Play Music, Stitcher, or the Pocket Casts app.
