Now that I have finished the episode, and know you will be going back to BH either way, I suggest one of those notoriously bad 80s series like “Manimal”, “Automan”, or “The Powers of Matthew Star”.

I thought so, he is really good at just talking to people and getting them to open up.

tederick SYNWPC Guess I have to keep not watching it, just so you can keep enjoying the argument then. It’s settled. Thanks Matt!

tederick For sure – there’s at least three or four sides to the story that could be told out of that true-life situation, and all of them contain a lot of different themes and angles that could be tackled so it’s no wonder that the movie was divisive.

modernsuperior tederick Yeah I’ve got real questions lately around movie fans’ increasingly tense relationship with the truth as portrayed in various movies. I don’t know if there’s a right or wrong in this but it’s interesting to think about.
On the Foxcatcher side of things I’m basically with Greg – I can’t believe they told THAT story instead of the actual story which seems way more interesting to me – but I also see Dan’s points about the filmmakers choosing the themes they wanted to explore and working outwards from there in terms of how to structure the story.

Sue me, I like X-Men: The Last Stand. It’s not great, but it’s a decent movie. (And I’m also on the tardy bench when it comes to Warrior, but that’s mostly due to my not giving a damn about MMA, which is not a good reason to not have seen it.)

The problem with hanging out with you guys IRL is that now I spend all of the Itty Bitty Tidbit Committee wanting to jump into your conversation – and then every time I try, you just keep on talkin’.

I’ve already tweeted about how much I loved the Breaking Bad argument but the argument about Foxcatcher was nearly as awesome.

I was at the premiere of Zombeavers in LA, it was a craptoad of fun. I don’t believe anything can be an “instant cult classic”, but I think it will be shown at parties and at midnight movies for a long time.
And since I am brain dumping everything right here, please keep doing either 90210, or something along those lines from that time period, part of the fun is how bonkers it is, compared to now.

There is a really good episode of Nerdist with Gillian Anderson, from a few months ago, where they talk about the possibility of more X Files, I’m glad it is happening.
I liked “Tusk”, it kind of reminded me of the old Hammer horror films in a way. Perhaps I just see this idea/movie as what reignited Kevin’s passion for film-making, because that’s what it seems like to me. People are always complaining that no one is doing anything new, at the very least, one can’t accuse him of this. I don’t think a single podcast goes by where he doesn’t say how much he loves the country, and I’ve heard him say more than once that these movies are an expression of that love.
