Have you watched the Plinkett reviews by Red Letter Media, Sean? Bob swears by them, and I selectively enjoy them. I find he can be a little … Comic Book Guy-esque for my tastes. But for the most part I agree with his arguments about the prequels. In that I don’t like them, which was probably obvious from the episode. I obviously can’t argue with ones enjoyment of them – our tastes are subjective, after all! But critically they’re complete failures in my eyes. And we’ll likely be at an agree to disagree on that one. As are many people! But we like what we like, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Call me an apologist as you wish, but I truly don’t believe that the Star Wars Prequels are as bad as everyone says that they are. While I generally agree with criticisms of the Phantom Menace, I found that the prequels got progressively better for me, with Attack of the Clones having a great climax (making up for the awkward romance) and Revenge of the Sith probably being close to the top of my favourite Star Wars films. Granted, when I got the blu-ray box set of the films, I’ve watched the original trilogy more than the prequels, but it doesn’t mean I’m not willing to do so.

I also experienced the divided response of The Force Awakens first hand. While I enjoyed the film, my ex-girlfriend absolutely hated it. Probably one of the more unique things she didn’t like about the film was the Nazi symbolism of the First Order.
